Happy New Year!
The club is picking up steam again since the holidays are behind us and many of the members are hatching away again. Not to mention getting ready for spring shows.
Speaking of which we will have two great turn outs for members at the MO State Poultry Show as well as the Cornhuskers Show in Avoca, IA! Both shows will be State & District Meets complete with rosette awards for our members.

The Cornhusker Show we are sponsoring a childrens coloring contest with awards! It is also a APA Semi Annual Meet so should have a great turn out. Most of us repeat attenders also know what a great set up, food, and kids games they have.

The Sedalia show is a long time favorite of many of us also and runs like clock work. The club is also sponsoring a childers coloring contest at this show with awards! They have great hand painted awards, raffle, and always has a poultry supply table for us to visit.

Recent wins were made my club members at the Denver Stock Show in CO. Club member and President Cara Smith in CO took Grand Champion of the show with a pullet she bred!
Will get pictures and show results up on the Extra Extra page!

Members look for the January newsletter to arrive next week. We have been making posts on the club yahoo site for renewals, so for those of you not on the list, get in touch with me!

Talk again soon!

Hello and welcome to our site! Smile

This club was a idea started in 2006 and finally breathed to life by January of 2007. As the months went on more and more people have joined and brought with them the excitement of starting something both positive and rewarding for those interested in the Bantam Silkie!

Members of this club are people raising Silkies for Showing/Exhibition and raising them according to the APA breed standard. We also encourage working on developing new varieties for the future. We participate in phone chats to get to know each other, share tips, ideas, and exchange show quality stock among the members to allow more people to learn to breed an promote top notch birds around the country.

We strongly encourage all Juniors into our club, who wish to learn more about raising Silkies for Exhibition/Show purposes. We are setting up a Junior program to teach and mentor all youth into raising the best silkies they can!
They even have their own Yahoo group just for them to make friends, share pictures, and learn together!

Adult membership is by invitation only. If you are interested in learning how to become a member please contact one of the club representatives to assist you.

This site and club are currently under construction, patience while we are working out the details!
